Situation

Crowe Horwath, one of the largest public accounting and consulting firms in the U.S., approached us for interaction and visual design to create an outstanding user experience for the Indiana Department of Education’s (IDOE) Learning Connection teacher portal.

Process

We worked closely with Crowe Horwath to understand, design, and develop the portal. The IDOE had worked with other firms in the past to develop products that contained similar elements, but was looking to improve usability, user acceptance, and to integrate more elements into the portal. Our work on the project included extensive user research and testing with actual Indiana educators as well as documentation of the results. In addition, we also were onsite at the IDOE with Crowe to consult and design project elements during the development process.

Results

The IDOE implemented Learning Connection in 2010 to assist Indiana’s educators.
